so I found this and thought it might be a meteorite. I sanded a window into the side and I'm still not sure. I'm new when it comes to meteorites

Looks like a piece of rusty iron that had rust ground off to find the shiny center.IMO

Slag is the leftover of melted iron and usually doesn't have iron in it ?
