Yep, that's what we all look for in Half Rolls. I've seen coins like that that were actually 40%.

Chrome plated? Those can be annoying.

I spent a chrome plated 1974 out here in SoCal two months ago.

Are any Franklins chrome plated? I found a 1954 Franklin that looks too shiny and new

Re: IS THIS WHAT EVERYBODY LOOKS FOR IN ROLLS OF HALVES?

Could be a proof or one somebody polished. Even so it's a keeper; all Franklins are 90% silver.

Re: IS THIS WHAT EVERYBODY LOOKS FOR IN ROLLS OF HALVES?

People like to put the buffing wheel to Franklins, Morgans, and Peace dollers.

Re: IS THIS WHAT EVERYBODY LOOKS FOR IN ROLLS OF HALVES?

I just saw the goofiest thing in my life last week...a Kennedy Commemorative Coin case that featured chrome plated currencies. All the Mercs, Bens and Quarters were chrome plated.

Re: IS THIS WHAT EVERYBODY LOOKS FOR IN ROLLS OF HALVES?

I never understood why people chrome plate coins.. I understand gold but not chrome.

I usually weigh rolls and if I see something like that in a roll where it did not weigh correctly for the 90%er range.. I just think it's chrome plated without looking at the date.

don't be over confident there buddy, even if you're not sure, you should check the date, afterall, how common do you find those chrome plated halves?

Re: IS THIS WHAT EVERYBODY LOOKS FOR IN ROLLS OF HALVES?

I recently got 2 64's and a Ben that look like they were spray painted with some sort of high gloss silver paint. They just look phony and then when they get a couple good scratches on them they look like, well, you know.

looks like chrome to me.maybe nickel?it fooled someone enough that they drilled hole through it.maybe the chinese are chrome plating halves and trying to pass them off as silver ha!ha!
