Is this real amber?

I am curious if this is a real piece of amber. I haven't come across a shape like this one.

Measures 1/2x6in

I tested it in salt water, it did float.

The scratch test proved it splintered and chipped away like an old brittle candy cane

Nail polish remover seemed to make the surface tacky on the small area I tested.

*The salt water test got slippery and ended up sliding out of my hand, breaking the piece in two.

Any help is appreciated

Looks like the hot melt glue I use to attach Broadheads to wood arrow shafts.

I was watching pawn stars and some guy brought in a bug encased amber piece and the shops gemologist looked it over and said not even he could determine if it was genuine or not. They told the guy wanting to sell it if it's real it would be worth a bundle, but it would cost $200 to have it go to a special lab that could say for sure it's a rare and valuable piece. The seller decided he'll risk it and off it went. It came back as being a fake and the pawn shop said they were no longer interested in it and the owner was simply out of two hundred bucks.
