🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Is this part of a makers mark?

Decided to soak this horse shoe from the cavalry site. I can’t tell if it’s hammered by a black smith or machine made. Looks like I can make out an “S” but that might be my mind making me believe that it’s an S and it’s really not. I feel there’s possibly more letters right there but it’s to far gone.

I can't make anything out there....have you considered trying a rub of it?

Far from an expert but it looks wrought to me. I think I see fibers in the metal. More knowledgeable members may correct me.

I’ve had similar issues with my items.
