hi, im new here and today was my first day out with a metal detector, i found this thing it was about 6 inches down ,and about as big as a half dollar . not sure what the metal is either as there are no markings that identify it. thank you and any info would help. it looks hand made and maby a goldwash on it. and heavy maby pewter?

What part of the world are you in (so we get an idea of what may be buried and found), and do you have any clearer pictures? Are there any markings on the item, and what do you suppose it may be made out of? Size? Just need some clues....

i live in ohio, found it in my backyard this morning, its about the same size as a half dollar. my house has been here since the 1920s . its heavy like maby pewter or heck i dont know bronze????

Never Junk something On one opinion, When In doubt get it checked out. take it in to a jeweler to have it checked out Chug!!!

Trust me I have thrown several things into a junk jar to find out later that they are Gold or silver items!!!! Good thing red looks when She feels up to It!!! Chug

Zincmaster, welcome to the forum. I'm also in the central Ohio area. If you get the chance, check out the Central Ohio Metal Detecting Association (club). We meet about once a month in the Columbus area to go on group hunts (mostly in local parks). If you are new to the hobby it's a great way to meet like minded folks.
