Slots don't go all the through, and there is the absence of the "Flower" so I'm saying no to a sand dollar. Even the fragments we find in Florida have the "Flower" visible.

Hmm. Looks similar to a piece of primitive pottery. Looking at the " broken " edge, is there any sign of " firing ?"

No sign of firing around edge.

It looks like a water tumbled part of a stone bowl.

Could it be a native artifact, like an abrader or whetstone? I could see it being hand held, and small bone tools being sharpened in the grooves.

I'm intrigued like the rest of you.

It appears to be fashioned and slightly heated clay artifact, probably Native American tool.
