Is this legit or a fake? I'm curious to find out if it's worth anything.

Terry Solomon posted a fake from his collection somewhere on here not too long along. Looks similar

The top edge of the rim from the 9:00 to 3:00 position does not look good to me but I'm not an expert. Do you have any story for the coin as to how you came about it ?
I received it as a gift from a customer of mine, who is a coin collector. He said he thought it was an interesting piece but wasn't sure if it is real or fake.
So now, I'm trying to get an answer to the question; real or fake?

An 1847 silver dollar with a Carson City mint mark. That's sounds fishy.

The Carson City Mint was created in 1863 but was not put into operation until 1870. It ran until 1885, went on a hiatus, and resumed operations in 1889, after which it ran until 1893, when it closed permanently.

Everyone has already said what I see, for that date shouldn't have the scroll or a CC mint mark, FAKE!!

That being said some fakes if they're really really old can be worth money to "counterfeit" coin collectors.

The Chinese counterfeit dollars I post a while back also included an 1847 Carson City mind dollar. I have no doubt it is a fake and probably a modern one and not a valuable antique counterfeit.

Thanks for posting, stay safe, good luck and keep swingin.

Some of the Chinese fakes are getting disturbingly deceptive, this one is an easy one however when they used an impossible reverse die. Even more alarming, they are now putting them in fake grading company slabs.
