Is this just a rock? or..............

Picked this up today detecting a stubble corn field. Not a rock hound so I dont know anything about them, seems an odd shape for a rock. Not oddly heavy or light.

Any ideas? The shape baffels me! Not the natural shape of a rock

Well, it is a granite. Granite boulders do tend to get a roundish shape in certain conditions.

Not worked? why all the excessive pitting? I say worked.
But what? Dunno

The pitting is quite typical of granite that's been subjected to weathering for some time.
