Is this just a rock or has it been worked by a human hand?

Hi,

We are hoping to learn whether or not this “rock” is just a “rock” or if it has been worked by human hand at some point in history. I think it is just a rock but my wife (and our 2 kids) are convinced that this is an arrowhead. If anyone with experience can please give us their opinion we would greatly appreciate it. Note: We found this while hiking in the Pocono area of Pennsylvania. I do hope that I am wrong because our children would be so excited!

Many thanks :)

Looks like just a rock to me, but some closer pics and putting this in the North American Indian Artifacts section might give you a bit of info.

Sorry, just a rock. Tell your kids to keep looking. They will find them if they look in the right places.

Fully agreed and many thanks.

David680, Indian Steve, and SkaBa: No need for additional photos...I think it is clear that this is a rock given all of your input (and what my eyes see when I look at it). Thank you for clearing this up so quickly. What a great forum. I will break the news to the kids in the morning but will go and laugh at (and with) my wife now.
And the search will continue for an arrowhead…

Cheers & Peace.

If they are that interested in it, sounds like you might have some nice little family outings in the future. Plowed fields, particularly after a rain are a great place to look. And sometimes even the "just rocks" can be something interesting. Best of luck to all of you and show us what you find.
