First, please tell us what it is, because some of us are curious. Then I'll tell you how to delete your post. :)

Hdubya said "Found out what it is." That's why I'm asking to know its ID.

it's some type of gear of something it looks like... it's got no patina, and in person it looks like it's only been in the ground for a short time.

Looks to me like a weighted flywheel to one of those toy cars that you rev up and let go.

Could it be a Dremel bit?

As promised, here are instructions on how to delete your post. At its end, if you are logged-in, you will see an option to "Edit Post." Click it, which will take you to a view where you'll see your post along with the option to "Go advanced." Click that option and you'll go to another webpage with the option to "Delete Post" near the top of the page. Click that option.

But please note, if you delete a post which is Post #1 in a discussion-thread, everybody else's post in that thread will also disappear. At least, that's how it works at various other "discussion" forums on the internet. I've never tried doing that here at Treasurenet.

Well- looks like my husband already replied! I thought I found something super neat but turns out it's just junk. I have no clue what it is... Maybe off of a toy car like the one person said? Anyways, I'll just leave this post up.. It's not hurting anything! :-)

I think here under new management you need to ask a moderator to delete an entire thread. But its not hurting anything.
