looks like it might be slag, looks like air pockets in it, just a guess though

Slag is also my first thought.

I need help identifying this rock. It has some small clear crystals forming but hard to see in photos. A small rare earth magnet has a light attraction. My wand reacts to only one small section of this object. Hoping its not space poop.

Looks to be slag

I've seen gossan limonite that looked about like that, but slag that looks like that, too. A streak test would tell the difference, the limonite would streak brown or yellow, whereas the slag would probably streak black. If you don't have a streak plate, try the underside of the lid on the W. C. of the modern home's most important piece of ceramic furniture, it may do ya.

Thanks. I found a large amount of rocks very simular to this along a stone bed stream after a storm that washed out a 100 ft bank of earth. It wasn't present before the "epic" storm.

I find quite a bit of slag around creeks. Most of the old iron mills were around a water source which was needed to process.
