It's possible. It also could be silver or platinum. Both come in natural wire forms and are sometimes pounded flat from hitting things as the pieces wash down stream.
Photos are still a bit fuzzy. You could take it to an assayer's office or jeweler and see what they think. They should be able to test it for you.
I'd keep collecting it up till I found out if I were you. Just in case. Good luck!

Is there a machine shop anywhere around your creek you are looking in? I have been a machinist for 45 years and if i am not mistaken you have found some mill chips.As the cutter turns it rolls the chip into a tube .They were probably cut in a milling machine with an endmill...Hopes this helps....Osage

I thought about brass shavings, but I would think they would have tarnished
