ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1484180029.771754.jpgpicture is of sand being dredged and gulls waiting for treats. I am thinking that there may be some interesting or valuable finds in dredged sand?

I guess it depends on where it's from. A few years ago they dredged our inlet to the bay and it was full of iron and poptops it was like sanding in the dry as they covered up all the recent drops.

one way to find out

There is a barge that frequently dredges sand from the inlet and then dumps it just offshore along the beach. At times we would find old coins, jewelry, and other items in this dumped sand, but not always. It largely depended on where, exactly, the dredged sand came from?

As said, you wont know unless you try it out. Me, I wouldn't dare pass it up.

50/50. Got anything better to do? :icon_thumright:

The sand appears to be coming from a nearby inlet that is lined by very expensive houses, most with boat docks. Guess It makes sense to give it a try. It is hard to pass up. Maybe I'll get lucky.

I would for sure try my Excal in that dredged up sand you never know what you will find! Good Luck
