new to detecting and have been researching a cw skirmish. Have tried to find site for days. Lots of modern bullets but today found some lead that may indicate i'm near? the three small balls were all found together and the other two pieces were seperate. Is this a fired cw bullet?
thanks for any help.

It looks like a fired and "mushroomed" minie ball from the Civil War!

Are there any rings on the sides? I can’t see any in the pic. If not I’d say it’s an enfield…..which very likely to be csa.

Don’t know sizes of the small balls, resemble buckshot. 3 in one spot could indicate a buck and ball load, but I’m not good enough to confirm if they were from 1863 or 2023. One note….the patina on the buckshot (if it is buckshot) isn’t as white as the conical bullet. That can indicate a different/later lead alloy. However the conditions where they were found also impact patina.
