Is this button or harness tack?

Found by an old well on my property. Material appears to be bronze with a bronze wire brazed to the back with a very nice fillet. 1.5 inch diameter and 1/8 inch thick. Wire back loop extends 1/2 inch from back.

No markings are evident.

I am having trouble with the size (my bad eyes, not your pic) but with that bar on the back I think it almost has to be a bridal rosette.
