You are letting your eye look for just shapes which is ok, but you need to be looking for flaking scars. Shapes will jump out at you from nature, I can't tell you how many times I have checked out mud, grass, leaves and other natural things because they looked like the shape of an artifact, but that is the nature of the beast in hunting artifacts. Keep looking and you will find them
