Is this an Ore?

From your photos, it looks like a brecciated quartz vein with some hydrothermal mineral infill between the blocks. The bluish colored mineralization may be ferric iron.
 

Yeah open it up, usually the good stuff is leached near the surface but it may look a lot better a foot or two in. Its mixed with schist so you never know might be good stuff
 

If you sample it and find a profitable amount of minerals- its ore.
You might crush and pan, you might have an assay performed.
That's a lot of work!
It's much easier to take a picture of the rock face with your smart phone, upload it to the internet and have the photo analyzed for valuable minerals.
Cheaper and faster that way ;)

I was just being sarcastic.
No insult intended.

But really, if your interested in prospecting and you are wondering if a formation has minerals...there are only a couple ways to figure it out. The internet IS a great place to figure that out.

What type of ore are you looking for?
