Is this an ashtray???

dug this today at an abandoned farm, only thing I can think is possibly an ashtray there is no marking on it anywhere I see, I filled it with all the wheats i dug there for size reference, it is not very large. from the top of his hat the the point at the bottom it is 3 1/2 inches

That's as good as guess as I have as well. Looks like a smoker would lay the pipe down on it after puffn'.

Looks like an item from Pier One and the dude smoking on it sort of gives it away...

This farm has been abandoned for a long time, and from the depth of it, I can almost be sure it is old and not from pier one....lol

Just kidding about the Pier One. It is brass, turkish probably and was sold as an artsy piece or just an ashtray. I still have a couple of things like that that my grandpa bought.

Very, very cool find-art nouveau time period maybe? I found many from that time frame that kind of have the same look as yours, but they are more elaborate.

When I say "found", I mean on the internet, not in real life! Duh!

my guess: it fell out of some hippies van back in 1971
