Thought it may have been a buffalo bill or some kind of show from the states

Duck, Your buckle depicts an ancient mythological man or god tied to a running horse, being chased by wolves. I just can't seem to find out who the guy is, but a smarter TNet member may be able to narrow it down. There is a very similar bronze plaque for sale on the internet, obviously the same mythical man. Hope you find the answer, it is a very cool buckle! Sub 8-)

This is an Art Nouveau era buckle depicting the story of Mazeppa - Mazeppa is the subject of a poem written by poet Lord Byron in 1819.

Mazeppa (Byron) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Buffalo Bill did perform the "Mazeppa Ride" as part of his Wild West show, and Mazeppa was a very popular theater production in the mid-late 1800's, your buckle could be American made and sold as a souvenir from such an event.

A Very Cool Story IMO, but did Mazeppa Die in Shame? Or was he Atoned?

That's a Very Cool piece IMO , With a Cool story to go with it. ( Conversation Piece).
