Is this an alien creature?

Somebody may recognize it, but a little more info would help.
Where found? How tiny? In the water or on land? Fresh water river or brackish? Have you looked at it under magnification? Shined a light through it? What were the circumstances/conditions of where it was? Is it still living? How do you know? Etc, etc,

Although I can't tell if it is round or somewhat flat, I'm going to guess that it's a free-living flat worm. If it were a leech, I think you could have seen a mouth on it.

I found it summer of 2016 in my hometown Ottawa river. freshwater, its about one inch long and very skinny. it has transparency you could see through it. it was on the shoreline just before the water on land. its dead now, I have it in my garage, the winter keeps it cold. One museum told me its a leech and another museum was really interested in this specimen but they never got back to me.

I have no more pictures and I just checked on the leech and it is dead and finished, i threw it away in the garbage.
