Based on it's size, I'm thinking it's vertebrae to a Right Whale? :icon_scratch:

Yes it's a fossil vertebrae. As Timbercrack suggests, possibly a tail section, because there are not rib attachments. If you want more suggestions, you'll need to tell us roughly what area you found it in.

It looks a lot like and appears to be the right size of the basilosaurus vertebra that we sometimes find down here in the creeks and rivers. Nice find. Normally, if you find one there's several more in the area. Good luck.
