Is this a silver thimble?

I am still in the field so sorry if the pictures aren’t the best. I found this at a 1840’s - early 1900’s homestead, is it a silver thimble?

Found a lot thimbles,one silver and none look like that.Not saying it aint but IMO dont think so.

looks like a cap off a flask. does it have threads on the inside?
