Is this a old sprinkler head?

Dug this up at my fravite park thst was a civil war fort during the 1800s I was told this might be a old irrigation sprinkler I am trying to get a date on it

Most sprinklers would be brass I don't believe that is.Looks like pot metal.

Looks like the inside of an air filter for a very old engine, Briggs, Wisconsin etc? Tony
