Howdy Folks. I recovered what I believe is a Native American Tinkle Cone. It appears to be copper or brass and measures 1.5 inches in length. There appears to be a seem in one of the pictures as well. It looks like other examples I have seen. I know there were Indians in our area as I have recovered their artifacts near the sight of this recovery. I have just never seen one up close before. Let me know any details or specifics if you have any to share. Thanks ya'll!:icon_salut:

The ends look awfully round to me, but I don’t know much about them.

Are those musket balls?

Nice hunt K1.

Yes. I found them last night after sundown deep into the field I have been hunting. The area I call the "target range" as there are a lot of old lead bullets in this area. Nice to find some old white round lead.

if it isn't a copper tinkle cone, it sure oughta be. My vote is tinkle cone. Also, if the size is in fact a tinkle cone, then those lead balls are more likely rifle bullets, not musket, which would be larger. Need measurements to be sure on what you have.

looks more like the end of a powder flask to me

I am open to suggestions being completely "ignorant" of such finds. There is a whole lot of shooting lead being recovered around here so that is a definite possibility. I'll research those pieces as well. Thanks for your input.:icon_thumright:

Howdy B-mate. I am sure you are most likely correct. Being the noob I am I just refer to all my round lead balls as "musket" balls. I actually have NO idea what caliber or make and model of rifle they mate up to? I do love old round lead and the bigger the better! I just don't find a lot of the bigger ones in my area. Thanks for adding to the thread mate. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!:hello:

Way too big and thick for a tinkle cone. These are usually less than an inch and a quarter in length and made from very thin metal. Most I have seen were barely an inch long.
