I can see what you are talking about, but hard to say. We had many mound groups here with a lot being effigy mounds. If it is a mound, looks like a big one...good luck.

its bout a mile from my farm i know there was a big village on my place ive always wounder'ed about that big looking mound since i was a kid the rest of the land around it is flat

How tall is it? Is it close to water with in a half mile? Looks like a mound to me.

i would say its about 40 feet tall there is a few creeks around the area

40 feet tall? If it is a mound you got something pretty awesome, I'd be doing some test holes.

i know the old farmer who owns the farm that its on but i dont know if he would let me dig it up or not it would be nice

Is it flat on top? the height sounds rite.

A 40 foot tall Mound would be documented. I would check your local archaeological records. Maybe starting with your local Historical Society website.

yes its flat on top

there's not much documented on my end of the county

Judging by the building to the north.. that would be a gigantic Mound and probably be a national park.

This could be a mound and it might just be a area where ground was placed or moved from another sight during road or bridge construction . I often though the same thing about other mounds I've seen but they where smaller . I also used to wonder if those big dent's or bowls you can see now and then on the roadsides were area's where meeting's were had by local Indian tribes and some might have been but the majority where left when the highways were built . Woodstock

GatorBoy , That only is true if it was located and verified to be a mound by experts . But in some rare cases mounds remain undiscovered even when in plain sight . Do some further research . HH , Woodstock
