Does anyone know if this is a Missouri Pacific Railway button or does the MP stand for something else? I haven't managed to take a picture of the back yet. Screenshot 2022-03-11 10.51.09 PM.png

Maybe. More likely from a police department. You can still buy them today.

I just got the buttons today, most are marked Superior Quality with 2 stars, but 1 is marked F.M. Batchelder Co. * Boston & Chic*. Does anyone know the dates these backmarks were used? Found the maker on another post, appears to be 1880's to 1940's maker.

F.M. Batchelder Co. was established 1907. Hard to say 100% when they stopped but it looks like they were in their heyday just before and during WWI.

Thanks for that information. I'll have to get a picture of the backs up, there are three coat buttons and one cuff button. All three have different backs, the Batchelder back and 2 Superior Quality backs with one back being sunken and the other slightly raised.
