Found what looks to be a Meteorite although I have never seen one in person. I Hit it with my tiller a foot down in my garden 2 years ago and saved it. Its really odd to say the least. Its about 5 inches long and about 2" thick it looks and feels like a solid piece of rusting metal except for a thin layer of sea foils on top.

Meteorite or just some type of iron mixed with ocean fossil? I live very close to the falls of the Ohio state park and have seen lots of fossilized material but nothing like this. The pictures really don't do it justice its really more rust colored than it looks in the pics.

Thanks in advance.

Looks to be quartz with iron leaching out resulting in the rust color.

Could be Iron ore as quartz and iron run together.

To me It looks like just a piece of iron that's been in the ground for some time.
