Is this a meteorite or just a paperweight?

Hello,
My Dad found this strange rock, back in the 80's, in a gravel pit not far from where we live. It weighs approximately 1 pound 15 ounces. A magnet will not stick to it. It smells like iron. When found it had no cracks, now it does. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! IMG_3201.jpgIMG_3197.jpgIMG_3199.jpg

No one here can tell you what this is. You need to go to a local university or college, and talk to the geology department head. I personally do not think it is a meteorite, but I thought I my first two wives loved me..

Not magnetic is a big negative being almost every metorite is largly iron. The top left pic does look like a nice fusion crust. Metorites feel heavy for their size.

Don't matter if its a meteorite it will still make a good paper weight, duh :icon_thumleft:

It sorta looks like some kind of petrification.
