No I don't think so.

Looks more like a broken pan or pot handle with a hanging hook.

Weird, I would have never guessed a handle to a vessel. Regardless it's still old iron so I will keep it. Thanks guys!

It never ceases to amaze me at the variety of objects blacksmiths made for a specific need at the time.
You'll likely never know what it was originally made for, but you found it and that's all that matters.

It could have been, with the wooden handle rotted off the long end.

Is it big enough to be a tent stake?

Thanks for the responses y’all, and I think it could be a tent stake as suggested. It is around the right size. But as said the purpose of old rusty iron may not be known by any but its user/creator.

Hard to tell but does look like a tent stake I have dug many

It resembles a crow bar or a pry bar.

It does resemble a tent stake. It very well could be. Nice find. Did you find any other items in this same area?

I see what you mean back of the boat, straight end flat like a bar. Might be seeing things but looks concave like a chissel or spooned.

Bent square nail with the head broke off.perhaps a door nail

Thanks for the continued responses guys. A chisel or tent spike seems fairly likely due to the size. I didn't include the size like I should, but if it was a prybar/crowbar it would be the smallest I have ever seen. In regards to finding things similar to tent stakes I haven't found much. The artifact scatter at the site seems to be completely random with nails being the most common along with pottery. So much iron that discriminating doesn't do much.

I thought afterwards about no size comparison but the shape made me think of crow/pry bar.Maybe it was from the wee folk, Leprechauns pry bar.LOL
