It's either a plating blister that's burst or a chip. A cud would be attached to the rim.

It is really hard to tell from the pics and I even copied and pasted them to my' PC and blew them up but it looks like it could be a retained Dropped Letter Error! It appears that it maybe a "D" from another coin that fell off and was struck over the lower portion of the "B" in LIBERTY but I could be wrong. Can you take some better closeup pics and post them? If you are having trouble getting in-focus closeups, you can hold a magnifier or Gem Loupe (preferably a 5x) in front of and up against the Camera's lens to get better pics. I have a Gem Loupe with 3 lenses and each are 5x so I end up with 5x, 10x and 15x.
