Is this a Confederate CW button

[Roadquest]

I like this button. It's not in real good shape.

But, the designs on it are interesting.

A friend said it could be a NC Confederate button. I have no idea.

I'm working in a new area now. And , have cut paths in many differant directions.

I hoping to find a dump area from a Confederate camp site.

Hope someone can tell me about this button.

Right on with the Georgia State Seal button. You will have to clean the rear enough to see the back mark to determine if it is CW era. There were Georgia Seal Buttons made after the war also. The backmark will tell the tale.

A Georgia button is an extremely good find. Where did you find it, that'll help you maybe date it.

If there is any gilding on that button, use Aluminum Jelly and don't risk losing gilding.

Awesome find, one of my favorite buttons.
That button will display very nice,once cleaned up
