✅ SOLVED Is This a Component Part Off Of Something?

I dug this at an early 1800's homesite in a presently used cornfield. This was the only thing I couldn't identify. It measures 3" long (bent like it is) and an inch wide. It appears to be part metal and what I thought looked like wood but seems to be some sort of composite material which leads me to believe it might not be that old. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
