With cobs, the dimensions are much less important than the weight--in determining the coins denomination.
Have you considered the possibility that your coin is actually two coins 'fused' together?
A one real coin's standard weight is 3.4335 grams; yours at 6.9 grams might actually be two 1R coins fused together with a 'cement' of crud that has upped the weight to by a fraction to 6.9 grams. Pure spec on my part, but sea salvaging 'fused' reales are not uncommon recoveries.
