I found, what I think is a bullet, in a CW site where many dropped/fired bullets from both sides were found. It has a cylindrical cavity in the base and is slightly blunted on other end. I can't find anything similar in the bullet ID books that I have. I've made some measurements as follows:
wt.-- .5 oz
lgth.-- 1 in.
dia.-- .368 in.
inside cavity dia.-- .239 in.
lgth. of inside cavity--.5 in.

Thanks for any input----JBnNC

Maybe a cylindrical whitworth bullet? They were .45 caliber though if I remember correctly. Sort of reminds me of martini-henry bullets, but again, I think those were something like .58 caliber...

It's .38 caliber more or less, and I don't think it's Civil War at all, but what do I know --- ??? --- not much. I will bump it back to the top for you though, someone must know.
