I stopped at a 'Free Pile' in front of some house , and I picked out this shoebox marked "surgical instruments"

Lots of useful stuff - tweezers, scissors , curved needles , surgical gut , a prosthetic knee , tiny mirror on a stick , and some nice pliers .

I was wondering what the "ball'' shaped cup is , and the pieces with all the screw holes . The ball cup is quite heavy for it's size and is marked 3L . VIT.

No....I don't even want to know if that's a piece of fused bone sticking out of the Knee ....Yuk !
