is the fisher f2 10 inch coil any good, should i get one or not

The Fisher F2 is a good entry level detector. The stock coil is a compromise between covering lots of ground an deeper and being able to hunt in trashy areas without a lot of trouble. A larger coil is good for wide open spaces or going deeper for relics though it is good for coins too.

Just keep in mind that generally speaking the larger coil that you get the more trash you will dig . As it is harder to divide two close targets ! But that is not always a bad thing as I dig most targets anyway .

Hi Gringo,

I use a Bounty Hunter, which coils can be used on some Fisher Detectors. I just bough a ten inch coil instead of a $400 dollar detectcor. I like the fisher Metal detector's. The larger coil will give you more depth in the ground. You cover more ground with the larger coil, but not helpful in trashy areas. It would help if you posted what you are wanting to use the coil for, or what area you will hunt wie 4th the coil. This would be a good relic coil.
i wanted to cover more ground faster and deeper looking for coins, i have the 4 in coil but i find it painfuly slow going, as i try to cover a large area, i run out patence.

thanks casca
