Is the Excel 800 Any good?

The 800 is the same but has the smaller coil.

I take it you mean Excalibur?

I used mine on land with pretty good results.

There is a difference between the earlier Excaliburs and the newer Excalibur II. I feel the II is a bit more sensitive and a bit more stable in certain instances.

I also like the newer coil on the II as it is thinner and glides easier through the water.

The 800 is a great machine and you should be able to make it pay for itself easily.
 

i like the 8" in water and the 10" on the beach.but if i could have only one it would be the 1000 10"
