The Ace250 is currently the King of the entry level metal detectors but is its reign about to come to an end.
Why do I say this have you noticed the price of the Ace 150 and 250 dropping not too sure about your domestic home market but here in the UK there has been a marked drop in price.
The reasons for this must be due to a number of factors has satutaion point been reached and sales declining.
The drop here ie in the Uk seems due to the fact dealers must have a huge mark up and take a loss so to speak but just what is shaking the good old Ace to its shiny yellow casing.
Lets examine this a little more closely the price drop occur ed just about the point when the Fisher F2 surfaced.
Compare the two side by side the Ace has a lot of bells and whistles as does the F2 its almost a grown up detector vdi, notches, etc people are singing its praises.
The one thing the F2 doesn't have is a long track record this can only come with time.
Performance of the F2 seems equal to the Ace 250 bearing in mind I own neither machine.
So where now for the Ace 250 I perdict Garret ts will reduce the retail price of it further to give the F2 a shot across the bows and co currently release the Ace 350
This machine will have all the features of the F2 but with manual gb and interchangeable target found plates with Usa and Uk currency symbols on the respective plates.
The price should be around 50%-75% more than the F2.
Will this happen if the Fisher F2 lives upto its promise there could be a price war.
Watching the video for Garret ts with Norfolk Wolf he said something very telling "you hardly see any Ace 250's for resale" very very true.
