Is it worth it to buy these?

That is definitely a great deal. Any special dates is just that much more of a bonus. Jump on it!...Brad

BUY...BUY....BUY...BUY....BUY....BUY....

Make sure you meet in a public place or at your local police station!

Sounds like a good deal!

When in doubt always check silver price online and compare.
Vintage coins in good condition will almost always be worth MORE than their silver melt value so buying them at or below silver melt value is automatically a profit.

Likely somehow he found out what a bargain the price was that he quoted you, and felt it would be easier to just ignore you than deal with you.

Or, he decided that you weren't a 'licensed dealer' and sold them to a local coin shop for less.

Has happened to me.

One of the stupidest arguments I ever had was on a CL "help" forum where they told me my post offering to buy silver was deleted because I did not list it as a dealer. So if I want to buy silver once or twice a year on an informal basis, in small amounts, in a coffee shop, I am apparently a dealer.

Some people...

I've noticed a trend with video game sellers on craigslist. Sometimes someone will post a large list for sale, and put a really rare game right in the middle. They'll ask a lowish price, and never respond if you try to get in touch with them. I think they are trying to figure out how much competition they have in the area.

I wonder if this is a similar deal?
