Not to me. That's a "maverick" strike and Uncle Sam can confiscate them.

But if it truly is a 1933 in the shape it appears it could bring in $2M in auction. That year was never in circulation and all but a few were destroyed and those were smuggled out of the mint illegally. I believe there's one at the Smithsonian and one at the Philly Mint.

More then one survived last year I believe 4 were discovered in the belongings of a jeweler. His relatives sent them to be appraised and the appraiser said that the only place that could authenticate them was the US mint. Who upon receiving them confiscated them. I believe the court case is still on going.

2008 red booke states it is ex rare, keep it to your self and do not let anny one take it out of your sight. I would not trust any one with it, it may not be real but do you want to take a chance if the Government wants their gold back. Reed Book $7,590,020
