Hi everyone, Red here, sorry I was not posting anything for awhile, I haven't been feeling good. I'm doing a little better now, except for the cold, today is day three of snow, and it is our third storm also, we are expecting freezing rain, hopefully it won't happen. 061.JPG 075.JPG we have about 6 inches here, it's a lot for us, we get snow about every 5 or 6 years. We haven't been able to get out much, when we did, we did pretty good, one day out I found 34 bullets in 2 days, I was so thrilled. I also added to my tool collection, LOL 029.JPG the saw blade I found awhile back,, this time I dug up a beautiful old file, I had a good solid signal on my machine, so I decided to go for it, I dug my plug, and started working down, and kept going down, inch by inch, finally Chug came over to see what the heck was taking so long, seeing how I had been digging for a good 15 minutes, I could feel it in the hole, the ground was very hard, but I couldn't give up, next thing you know, Chug is helping.:laughing7: After another good 15 to 20 minutes, we finally got it up and out, oh, by the way, did I forget to mention that the file was straight up and down, not sideways, not at an angle, nope, straight up and down, and it was the tip I had found 6 inches down, so you see, there is no way I could leave that in the ground!
Chug added to his naked lady collection, yup, another one, this time she is a pin, 084.JPG 085.JPG he found it while we were coin shooting last weekend. She will soon have a new home, I've been busy with some new crafts, you see, with all the stuff we are finding, we need new places to store it all, so I came up with these, I'm having a ball decorating them! 086.JPG 087.JPG 088.JPG 089.JPG 094.JPG 095.JPG 096.JPG 097.JPG 098.JPG as I add more stuff, I'll keep updating the pics! :laughing7: And last but not least, we are leaving our tree up til one of us finds gold! 485.JPG LOL thank you for reading and looking at our pictures, I hope you all enjoyed them, take care, stay safe and stay warm, soon, spring will be here, along with the warm weather! 001.JPG Red:hello:

Nice finds an cool chest. I've been thinking about building one even though I don't have much to put in it with the snow I have cabin fever.

Spring will come! :icon_sunny::icon_sunny::icon_sunny: We're sending sun & warmth from here ASAP to you two, but rats, it may take a few weeks to get there :crybaby2:. Your new treasure chests are delightful! :icon_thumright: Glad you were able to detect a few times between snow storms. Here in central coastal California, it's been spring for a whole year - beautiful days to be outdoors & perfect for detecting. BUT this was due to the worst drought here in 100 years. Finally we are starting to have a few gentle light rains in this season which used to bring much rain. This is our third drought year in a row, and it was the worst, very bad for agriculture, cattle & horse stock, & wild animals. So we may later be begging your state to pipe us down lots of water for crops, animals and people! Adios for now! :cat: Andi

Hi Red & Chug, I hope you are feeling better. Pain is so hard to deal with, my heart goes out to you. Glad to see you posting again. I love your treasure chests! what a great way to show off your finds. I remember all to well the winters in WA. It's the wind & ice that getcha! I was in Troutdale one yr when there was 6" of ice on everything! & then the wind hit! was not pretty. We had many a night sleeping under the kitchen table cuz we had such big trees surrounding the house, & such big winds to bring them down. I hope you stay safe & warm til spring arrives. & then I expect to see some gold on that tree!
Best wishes, Mamabear

Glad your better, have to hang in there, all that gold out there with your name on has to be found!

Absolutely awesome treasure chests and use of finds! I love the pop top on them! I Now know what to do with all the less than whole corroded zincs I have!

I invited that ground hog over to be...I mean, to dinner to "discuss" the 6 more weeks of winter he forecast, but he refused to come. I have no idea why! (Any one have a good ground hog recipe ?)

Spring!?!? Heckfire! I'll be perfectly happy with temps above freezing! I am SICK of this! :(

Nice finds and love the creative use!

I love your treasure chests , my bank hates me because even the corroded zincolns that you used for decorating, I roll them and deposit them although I let them know how nasty they are and the lawn mower coins get deposited too.

I agree Whadifind, we haven't been up to 32 degrees since December!! and got 40 inches of snow in Jan. Worst winter in a long time !!! I want to see some mud!!!

That's the first ring I ever found! :hello2: It's junk, but it still counts! :occasion14: And finally, here are a couple more pieces I've made, 2-11-14 033.JPG 2-11-14 031.JPG This necklace was made with a string of pearls Chug found in an empty apt last year, 2-11-14 036.JPG Chug found these beads in an abandoned in another apt, along with a huge box of beads! Come summer you could probably sell them for cash at the art fairs if your willing to part with them, its something out of the ordinary and no two will ever be the same, something different is what people look for. VERY NICE!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. HH (SOMEDAY WHEN THE SNOW MELTS i WILL HUNT AGAIN) LOL
