I dug this in skirmish civil war area with a couple 3 ringers. I havent had the grace to dig a buckle yet but to me this looks like a melted union buckle. The puppy paw back or what ever it is referred to, one pad or toe is still visable. Is this my first buckle? 13271557_1028980750473114_463005656_o.jpg 13271421_1028986883805834_410527245_o.jpg

First, welcome to Tnet. What is your relic made of? Is it melted lead or brass? And if it is lead, is your "surviving pad" of the puppy paw brass? Really hard to know for sure without holding it first hand, but i see where a buckle would come to mind . . . Hope it is, good luck!

Buckles and plates were often thrown into fires. Welcome.

Guy identified it today its a buckle for sure, damn. I have prayed for one for so long. Well cant be greedy or ungrateful thats not Christian like. Lol thanks for reply hope to get to know you all along the way.

You say it's Confirmed , that's Great.

My comments were / are .' It looks to be about the right size & I have seen many buckle Faces With out their lead backs & quite a few lone attachment hooks.

Welcome to t-net & congratz on all your CW Finds.
