Quartzite. There are two types, ortho and meta. Ortho is knappable, meta is not. I can’t tell which type you have but it does look a bit like ortho.

I had been told by a buddy it was quartzite. Didn’t know of the two types or differences in knapping. Thanks
 

I think just a rock, but just like you it would have caught my eye. That might be a spot you would want to go back to for a closer look around.
 

Yes, indeed, it is a Geofact, a natural object that, to a novice, has some superficial appearance to an actual artifact.

In other words, just a rock.
