Is it or isn't it? Please help.

Is it or isn't it? A musket ball.
Kathy found this over the weekend and we cannot tell as we never found one before.
I measured it between .55 and .60 and can be sure it is lead. I scratched it with a screwdriver and it is soft metal.



My find for the day was this earring with a broken post. It is 925 silver and the stones are either CZ or white saphires. Unfortunately not diamonds.

humm maybe a 58 cal round ball (.570 true measure )--- 58 cal was a CW era rifle size by the way

If no civil war activity in the area, I have a hunting muzzle loader that is .58 caliber. So, it could be a modern cast ball? Monty

From the pic, I'd bet money that's a musket ball. . . and more than likely, pre Civil War
If you look closely, you might be able to see a thin, circular seam around it from the mold.
