Is this my first ring? About the size of a penny. Seems wide for how small it is.

sure looks like one,cant make out the marking on the inside,can you?wide bands arent that rare,I have several this year.marked or not I would say yes its a ring !!!

After looking at this and researching a little. I think the mark inside the ring is a U with an arrow thru it and "5" to the right of it. A company named Uncas Manufacturing uses this mark. That is all I have found though and have not found any ring that looks like it.

yup...makers mark(we have seen that one several times)and size.your first ring for sure
