I was out digging the other day. Same place I dug a ton of 3 ringers and a few eagle buttons. I dug this bullet and thought it was just another bullet. Well I got home and cleaned it and right away noticed it wasn't normal. The bullet appears to be fired. The bullet is shaped like a hexagon. It is around an inch long give or take. Around .45 caliber give or take. I don't have a caliper so I'm not 100% sure. It looks like the pictures online I see. I just need some more opinions. Here are the pictures.

First... your bullet is too short to be a Whitworth bullet -- which is typically 1.30 to 1.43 inches long. The rammer-mark on your bullet's nose did not subtract .3-inch (or more) from its length.

Second... close inspection shows your bullet has 6-groove rifling marks on it. The Whitworth rifle's bore was hexagonal -- it did not actually have grooves.

Having absolutely excluded the Whitworth as a possibility, to figure out what type of bullet it is, we need precise length and diameter measurements.

I was looking at the North South Trader Price Guide, but only saw the hexagonial. It was 200 to 250. Not sure about yours but they are not cheap. Congratulation, I am definitely jealous.
