Found this and not sure what it is. Thinking maybe a roman coin, but have no idea why it would be in my area NW Florida. Its bigger than a quarter, and twice as thick. I hope some can will know what it is.

I would say yes, a Roman coin, hard to tell the ruler, some one with better eyes might chime in.:thumbsup:

The reverse looks like Victory striding.

It's pretty rough and hard to make out, I also found a 1921 King George large cent and some wheats not to far from this one. I'm thinking they might be from an old coin collection from the house that was once there. It's very overgrown and can't get into there very good, but found them in a couple open areas. The yard might be full of coins

Congrats on the awesome find! I thought maybe this Gordian sesterius looked in the ball park. The visible letters seemed to be in the right place but it could be something else...
