Found this around an old home site several years ago. As you can see, it's pretty beat up. Trying to clean it would probably damage it more. Any ideas on what it is?

My dad used to tell me they used to shoot quarters with .22 rifles back in the day to show off, and I have found a couple of bullet-holed quarters around his old homeplace. My guess is that's what this is.

Thanks for the guess. On one side I can make out 'Jackson' and on another part 'S. A' along an edge.
