Great minds think alike ..I was going to suggest a Civil War nipple protector

Two of them would be banged together to make the sound of a moving horse.

An African Swallow carrying coconuts ?

Ahhh then...

What would be the rate at which an African Swallow carrying metal coconuts be ? (Monty Python for those who don't know)

heh

It's the forerunner of the tin-foil hat that is the forerunner of the modern aluminum foil hat... for the chronically paranoid.

Or maybe a sponge saturated with brine solution slips between the "bowl" and skull when sitting in a State chair. :tongue3:

I think NHBENZ is correct. Found a few of these in the Swiss and Austrian Alps.

Last picture it what makes me think so; appears it has some sort of one inch flat stock that was the mounting bracket. Chances are was fixed but the following winter the line froze and the animal knocked it off the fence post.

While this is as good a guess as any, it doesn't appear to look like the old cast iron cattle waterers I could find, unless the top couple of inches have broken away.

Yeah right. It's kinda like a ceramic bowl, but it's made of iron instead.
