I don't (didn't) have any pipes or high end American Indian artifacts in my collection. Last year I was able to go to Flint Ridge, Ohio and dig some nice native pieces and just plain flint. Everything is either off limits around here or under concrete.

I was wandering around at the antique store last week and saw a box in a case with this in it. It is Iroquois, from Pennsylvania, and these "trumpet" pipes date late 1500's to about 1775, when most of the Iroquois had to high tail it to Canada.

Enjoy. IMG_0433.JPGIMG_0434.JPG

Well, I'm never going to dig one myself, that's for sure. Of course, I didn't expect the 500 year old Spanish coin from two seasons ago, the Confederate goodies or the Rev War stirrup from 12 days ago. You never know.

Thanks all. Dealer had two. I could (sort of) afford one. There are so many fakes out there, it's tough. By having hands on, I did ok. I have been known making mistakes on Ebay before.

that thing is pretty cool.

Nice find , cool display piece . Do you know what it’s made from ? Is that bone / antler , clay , wood ??? Hard to tell

It came from Salem, NJ, where I have also dug and found one or two misc. Indian items.

Nice find, even if it was in a store!
